What classes do you take in college to become an Early Childhood Education Teacher and?

I just need to know how many years does it take to become an Early Childhood Education Teacher and what classes I would have to take and what is the best college to become an Early Childhood Education teacher? Maybe an idea how much it will cost. I want to go the the University of Washington or the Washington State University. I am tired of looking at the colleges web sites cuz it doesn’t even help! please if you have any web sites that helps or you know anything about being and teacher that is kinder.– 3rd grade please tell me anything that you know.

    Two basic courses are Child Psychology and Educational Psychology. Also, doing a field study is highly recommended, if not required.

    you really have to do the website surfing. Download catalogs.

    you will need a BA/BS in education, an MS in education, figure 6 years, MAYBE 5……

    you will also have to get state certification. Try the state dept of education for better links.

    sorry, but I did my research on this on my own, and that was before there was such a thing as the internet….

    There is no set list of classes. This is determined college-by-college. For early childhood, you would be best staying in-state unless you desperately want to get out. Tuition will be lower, and you can get this degree at almost any school, particularly state schools. I know the hours of website searching are tiring, but it really is your best way to determine what you like and don’t like. And, don’t hesitate to email department heads or call the schools directly–they can give you even more information.
